What’s special about ESS Technology’s mobile DACs is that it grants DT03 access to its on-chip analog volume control.

This dongle attenuates volume in the analog domain granting much better signal-to-noise performance than the average competitor’s lossy digital volume control.

Further pushing decoding precision is an outboard clock that is located right next to DT03’s DACs, pushing down phase noise and jitter for a stable decode.

After decoding, DT03 is therefore able to validly claim high signal-to-noise ratio – aided by the analog volume controls of its ES9219Cs.
