Ready for a New Journey

A new chapter began in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023. The idea surfaced over a weekend trip, probably across a bowl of phở, and gradually became the second home for our team: The Audio People, with its bright green facade, Green-for-Go.

The roots run a decade deeper. A grey wall was built and a door was placed inside Singapore’s Sim Lim Square, and a combined audio store and café quietly took shape amid the LED signs and the foot traffic. The lights came on, the coffee began to brew, and people stayed: to chat, to listen, to share. A strange beginning, but one we loved. That space became our oasis.

The Story of ZEPP

We were Singapore’s first audio café, established during a relatively quiet period for the retail market. Audiophiles visited on weekdays to test equipment, while weekends were bustling with friends, coffee lovers, and curious newcomers. Many called us audiophiles, but the Zepp team was simply striving to do the job well: selecting and testing equipment so you wouldn’t have to spend hours filtering through information online. Over time, we built a reputation for offering products from leading global audio brands, from accessible equipment to higher-end systems. 10 Years, 2 Countries

Things usually start with a small idea. “Ten Years, Two Countries” had always been our aspiration, and Vietnam was the next chapter. With the help of many wonderful people, our official store now stands in Ho Chi Minh City, ready for music lovers across the city and beyond.

Is this a coffee shop or an audio shop?

We started with Zeppelin & Co. in Singapore: an audio store combined with a café, where Audio, Coffee, and People coexisted in one space. After more than a decade, we refined that spirit into our current identity: The Audio People, a high-end audio showroom focused entirely on helping customers choose the equipment that best suits their music.

TAP launched in Ho Chi Minh City, where good coffee is found on every street corner. We chose to focus on what we know best: delivering a quality audio experience for music lovers, in a dedicated space built around listening.

We would love to, but we choose to respect the policies of the brands. Some brands only allow sales within Vietnam, so our website is set up solely to serve domestic customers. However, you can contact Zeppelin & Co. in Singapore at +65 9337 9655. Depending on the brand, we may be able to guide you through the next steps.

Warranty coverage depends on the policy of each brand or distributor. Standard warranty periods typically range from one to two years. All manufacturing defects are covered under warranty; normal wear and tear or improper use are not covered.

Examples of inclusions due to manufacturing defects: 1. One side of your earphone / headphone stops working. Item otherwise in good condition. 2. Bluetooth stopped working. 3. Battery stopped charging. Examples of exclusions due to user-induced defect: 1. Pet chewed on my cable. 2. Cable got caught in door, I pulled, and it broke. 3. Dropped non-IPX rated item in water Tell us what happened, and we’ll do our best to assist you or advise on the appropriate course of action. Honesty is always the best way for us to help you.
Currently, we don’t have a programme for lending devices to customers to take home. Additionally, we’re only allowed to purchase one demo unit of each product for the store, so we need to keep the device at the shop for customers to try out. However, we are always listening to customer feedback and hope to implement a home-loan programme in the future.
Are all the products genuine?
We guarantee that all our products are genuine! At TAP, we put a lot of effort into searching for and selecting brands from all over the world to bring them to you in the most convenient way possible. Thanks to the reputation we’ve built over the years, we’ve established direct partnerships with the manufacturers of many major brands. In addition, for a few other brands, we work through official distributors. So you can rest assured and comfortably enjoy the best products available here.

This is one of our favourite questions, and we’ve prepared some metaphors for you. 

It’s all about living better and listening better. You can always enjoy a good cup of coffee without having to roast the beans yourself. You might not be able to describe the exact flavour, but you’ll know whether you like it a lot or a little. The same goes for sound. It doesn’t always have to be those 3-in-1 instant coffee packets. Respect your ears and protect your hearing, because good sound reduces stress while bad sound only adds to it.

The full answer is long, and we have blog posts that go into detail. However, in short, many headphones don’t receive enough power from the phone, which leads to insufficient drive and a listening experience well below what the headphones are capable of. Power is also not the only consideration, as DAC capabilities will affect the quality of output to the headphones. Pop into the store and ask any of our staff if you’d like to talk it through.
A good audio setup is one that suits your music, your space, and your ears. The components matter (source, amplification, headphones or speakers), but the priority order depends on how you actually listen. A portable setup might mean DAP plus IEMs. A desktop setup would mean having at least a DAC and amplifier feeding a pair of open or closed-back headphones, or even in some rare cases, very high-end IEMs! Pairing is an art, far from science and through our experience we are able to be more intuitive about which setup works with which IEM/headphones. The right approach is to start with your favourite music, and we will take care of the rest by considering your comfort, use case, lifestyle and build from there. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff will always be happy to help map out a setup that fits your goals and your budget.
Yes, of course! We understand the need to audition, and AB test with alternate pairings on the floor before deciding. Reach out via our website, Facebook, or by phone, and we’ll reserve the unit for a day (24 hours) at our Ho Chi Minh City flagship store for you to come by and audition, before finalising the purchase at the store. Alternatively, if you have already made up your mind, and like to make payment directly online, before simply picking it up at the store later – that is also available!
